Hi all,

I'm a Dutch pilot(PPL SEP) going to Kalamazoo MI for business.
While I'm over there I think about doing some sight seeing by plane,
with an instructor of course.
Can anybody recommend FBO's in that area?
I like small/regional airfields best, nothing that sounds like
'blahblah international'.
And what are the rules these days for foreign pilots?

Many thanks in advance,
Kees

There is a very good museum on the Kalamazoo airport (AZO) that has a good
range of military and civilian aircraft inclusing an SR-71.

I'm from the other side of the state but Kalamazoo / Battle Creek
International is the airport in Kalamazoo. It's supposed to be nice
and GA friendly, but I've never stopped there.

I don't have any direct experience with these either, but I've heard
good things about Marshall (RMY) and Hastings (9D9). They're within
50km of Kalamazoo.

Check for airports in the area using the Advanced Search at:

The rules are on the FAA's web site if you can stand digging through
it. Your best bet might be to call the FSDO in Grand Rapids and ask
them over the phone. Their web site is:

One little-known rule is that Dutch pilots must stop at Troy, MI (7D2)
and bring me some Puccini chocolates. ;-)
