View Full Version : Abbreviations for various types of airspace in an Open Air file

I generally build and modify a file called TFR.txt for the temporary airspaces we see each summer. That's pretty easy, as there's lots of other R airspace to use as a guide.
Wishing to build a file with "glider area" airspace... Like many other things, haven't got it right yet.
What are the various abbreviations for airspace types in "Open Air" format?
Thanks,
Jim

have a look at https://github.com/Turbo87/XCSoar/blob/master/src/Airspace/AirspaceParser.cpp#L67-L80
those are the types that XCSoar will try to parse. I think what you are looking for is "W" for wave sectors.

Thanks, Tobias.
I'll have a look at it in the glider later but to see it in SeeYou the W airspace falls under the "Other" category.

There's a specification for writing OpenAir files here:
