A gathering of our soaring tribes in Houston!

The Soaring Safety Foundation (SSF) Seminar "Who's In Charge Here?" is next Saturday afternoon FEB 23, at 3 PM in the Hyatt North Houston hotel meeting rooms.
Stay for the Soaring Society of America Awards dinner and general membership meeting starting at 6 PM in the Hyatt.
Reserve your tickets for the dinner by calling SSA HQ in Hobbs: 575-392-1177.
(Call today so our SSA staff can get a head count for the dinner.) The SSA has also arranged a discounted room rate at the Hyatt.

Venue address: Hyatt North Houston Rooms 3 and 4
425 North Sam Houston Parkway East
Houston, TX 77060 (about 8 miles SW of IAH airport.)

The Soaring Safety Foundation Seminar is free. Topics will include improving the safety culture through better club management and aircraft maintenance "best practices".
I want it to be more of a "workshop" than a lecture, so come and participate!

To register for the SSF Seminar, even if you do not participate in the FAA "WINGS" Program (and you should), please go here:

http://www.faasafety.gov/SPANS/event_details.aspx?eid=48426&caller=/SPANS/events/EventList.aspx

Registering for this seminar on that FAA webpage may well benefit the soaring community / FAA relationship!
You can also sign up to participate in the FAA WINGS program on www.faasafety.gov
Please consider doing so -- even as a glider pilot you will benefit from the online courses and the alerts for future aviation seminars and events.
Please spread the word by transmitting this alert to your club e-mail list.

Thanks,

Attendees are already arriving . . . gonna be a nice gathering.
For me, our SSA annual meetings and biennial conventions are about the people . . . seeing old friends, making new friends. Sharing stories and laughs. Remembering the past and pondering the future.
