Here is some background on Kerry's flying family and where he got
started, extracted from the Des Moines Tribune.

Quote

John Forbes Kerry was born Dec. 11, 1943, in Denver, Colo., to
Rosemary Forbes of the Boston Brahmin Forbes family and Richard Kerry,
a test pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Kerry was raised Catholic,
but learned 15 years ago that his paternal grandfather was a Czech
Jewish immigrant.

Kerry - an active pilot (GA), hockey player and student of classical
guitar - approaches nothing halfheartedly, said Thorne, a Boston
publisher and financial broker and friend at Harvard. His first wife
was Thorne's twin sister who he divorced.

"I've witnessed this from the same cockpit. It's part of his wiring,"
said Thorne, who remains Kerry's closest friend. "He doesn't want to
mess around. He wants to be the best."

So, it seems he has some valid GA background but that doesn't tell how
he would treat GA from the White House.

No, you're right...it doesn't. Which makes me wonder how that post would be
on-topic here OR in alt.politics.

Seriously, man...I for one am getting a little sick of the political
threads. It's bad enough when a flying thread degenerates into one. I
really don't think we need to be *starting* them.

I know this isn't the first time you've heard this.

Pete

Think you are right.

My interest in flying started the first time I saw an airplane back in
the 20's and continues to date. Anything effecting flying is of
interest to me even though I have had to back off cockpit time due to
physical problems of late.

On Kerry and GA, the original posts days ago mentiond GA but
couldn't/didn't give any facts on his GA background.

I have posted his GA association as I came across it in my search for
background on him.

Any further on this subject is probably just sniping and not of
interest the group?

So, I'll clean my act up unless he becomes an active participant in GA
by word or deed during the campaign.

And a good day to thee.

Even if he were wildly pro-GA, would you want someone who has postulated
that the US should be damn near under the total control of the UN?

Ya gotta look at the "Big Picture"; "one issue" voters are the ones
political hacks can pander to while wrecking everything else.

lol - as opposed to the multiple issues you have commented on in this
illuminating post.

That sounds like "Big Picture" to me.

Hey, make your decision and live with it...and may your descendants not
urinate on your grave.
