Would like some feedback from those operating the new and improved Oudie with SeeYou Mobile.
Likes / Dislikes????
It will be use for contest flying taking the place of the 3000 series iPAC and GNII.

Great piece of kit, wouldn't leave home without it! ..........particularly
with the new bright screen that lets me actually read the very useful and
staggeringly accurate (linked to CAI 302) information.
Dislikes: first time set up, decisions decisions decisions, which & how
much info do I want, where do i want it, what screen is it best displayed
on.........Oh and getting the 'knack' of sliding from one screen to
another.
Buy one.

Had been using SeeYou Mobile on HP4700 PDA for contest and xc flying as a supplement to my SN10.

Replaced the PDA with an Oudie prior to the recent Seniors contest and was very impressed with it.

Easy to see, no more locking up and requiring a reboot, and much easier to use.

I am a very happy user.

Suggestion: Don't bother trying to slide the screens, setup a nav box (or a command box a the bottom) to toggle between map screens. A LOT easier.

Play with the font sizes and line color/widths to make the data easier to use.

DO NOT TURN ON EVERY POSSIBLE NAV BOX! Less is better, and if you don't have a vario hooked up to it, don't bother with the vario numbers.

Take it home and play with it, save your different profiles, and eventually you will find the setup you like.

It is excellent and a great step forward from the iPaqs. Points additional to those already mentioned:

Choose your waypoint file carefully so that waypoint names start with abbreviations which will be helpful on screen. If you are like me you will take advantage of the ability to have landables showing at higher zoom levels than other waypoints. As someone else has implied, it is useful to allocate actions to navboxes, so that you can go straight to often used functions without having to go via the menu. For example, I use one navbox to toggle between the two map pages, and another to go straight to the task page.

It is particularly nice to have a whole world base map already loaded, and to have lifetime software upgrades included.

One thing I don't like is use of a micro SD card. For any file transfer needs I prefer to connect the device by USB to my laptop. The device itself does not have any file management software on it. The internal GPS is welcome as a backup, but this is not the best device to choose if you do not intend to connect to an external GPS source.

I have been using the New Oudie / SeeYou Mobile with a 302 for three
flights. This replaced my GN2 and a whole drawer full of PDAs. With
Paul Remde's help the set-up was very smooth and low stress. The
screen size is good. The brightness is very good in bright light. It
has been a happy and stress-less transition.
