You're a pilot, and you have money to give to the casinos? Guess flying
isn't as expensive as folks have been saying it is.

I called Foxwoods a year ago because I was going to take a friend up there -
he has a hankering for throwing money away at gambling places. They refused
to pick me up at the airport - even when I asked if they would send over the
bus/shuttle that comes from one of the ferries (I forget which). I told
them that it was probably bad public relations to refuse to pick up people
who flew in to gamble.

(I doubt they knew I was a broke pilot and my friend hardly qualifies as a
high roller)

Oh well, maybe I have seen "Casino" too often and expect too much. I think
a regular hotel would have sent a vehicle - obviously they are making enough
money without my few dollars.

Skip it - spend the time and money somewhere else is my advice.

A $6 cab ride gets you to the casinos, and the cab companies listen on
unicom and are usually there when you land...

I agree about Mohegan Sun over Foxwoods, for location and amenities.

Don't know about them picking you up unless you are a high roller (I'm not)
but there is an Avis counter in the airport.

I had the same issue at Atlantic City, BADER FIELD, just a short ride
from any of the casinos. Called in advance and asked for a pickup.
They first wanted to know if I had a membership (i.e. rating) card.
No. So, there answer was 'no'. I wanted a ride to the Taj, which is
a bit too far to walk. They wouldn't come get me. So, I walked to
the Trop and stuck with the Southern casinos. Money talks. I walked.
