Not wanting to hijack the other post...

Thanks RN for pointing out an excellent looking device to adapt American trailer wiring to what is the norm everywhere else.

On the electrical wiring for the trailer, I have had good success connecting a Cobra trailer with US GM and Mercedes cars using the low cost converter # 118158 from etrailer.com

This requires no changes to the trailer or tow vehicle and is simple to assemble with a plug, socket, and some wire.

I found a really nice round to Flat four adapter at NAPA a few years ago.
Works great for Cobra trailers,
