The Mosquito is a rare British aircraft that looks proportional, balanced,
sleek, and beautiful. Unlike the rest it looks like it was created more by
an artist than an engineer.

It might be rare these days, but 7781 were built, serving in some 21 air
forces, including the USAAF.
Good looks were a de Havilland characteristic. Look at the DH.88 Comet,
DH.90 Dragonfly and DH.91 Albatross. All sleek and attractive. Even the
DH.103 Hornet had an aggressive beauty about it. And then, of course,
there was the DH.106 Comet airliner, whose design started nearly 70
years ago. All created by engineers.
