It's that time again... student pilots, pilots working on a rating or a winter refresher...

GLIDER PILOT'S GROUND SCHOOL – Eastern PA
Philadelphia Glider Council presents its annual ground school course:

The PGC course is a refined and informative ground school that gets great reviews from airline pilots, ex-military pilots and a wide range of GA pilots transitioning to gliders. It is not the typical “answers to the test questions” seminar, but rather a detailed look at the information and concepts preparing one to take the FAA Private or Comm written exam, prepare for a checkride, flight review, or knock the rust off over the winter. Participants receive a logbook endorsement for 20 hours (three sessions) of ground preparation. Topics include:

- Weather Services
- Critical Weather
- Flight Instruments
- Pre-Flight Procedures
- Sailplane Aerodynamics
- Effects of Density Altitude
- Flight Limitations
- Emergency Procedures
- Off-Field Landings
- Aeromedical Factors
- Aeronautical Decision Making
- Collision Avoidance
- Cross-Country Planning
- Sectional Charts
- The Airspace System
- Communications
- Weight & Balance
- Pilot Privileges
- FAR’s for Glider Pilots
- Documents & Certificates
- Flight Maneuvers
- Prepping for a Checkride/Flight review
