Aprox 11am local on Tuesday 6/22,
a Cessna 210 Centurion crashed in Lake Erie off Dunkirk, NY.

The pilot, Robert Campbell of Indian River, Michigan was killed and his
body recovered
by dive teams. The pilot was the sole person on board the aircraft.

The aircraft was reported to be enroute from Michigan to Jamestown, NY.

Fishermen who witnessed the crash stated that the plane appeared to be
missing one
wing as it fell to the lake. However weather conditions were fog and
haze. It is possible
that due to unusual attitude (spin?) the witnesses might have mistaken
the aircraft's
tail for the wing. No other information at this time.

Ya think fishermen would know a fish missing one fin? And why do you seem to
think the plane might not of lost a wing? Read the NTSB reports on
line---there are more than a few planes that lost a wing in IMC conditions.
