I was wondering if there are some good charities and/or foundations that
have been set up to introduce and/or provide scholarships to youth who
would otherwise not be able due to social, monetary, etc. reasons to
pursue becoming a pilot(either as a hobby or professional).

Around here there's a group of Tuskeegee Airmen in a Black Pilots
Association that help kids out. Not sure of the exact name.

Eric,

The Blue Yonder Foundation is set up to do precisely what you have in
mind. Don't have the web site handy, but it provides full ride
scholarships for a private pilot certificate to high school students.
