Local Birmingham, Alabama FOX news station just reported a small plane down
in Etowah county, east of Birmingham. No details yet.

I'm always tempted to ask why people post what I'll call "crash
notifications". If you look at the NTSB database, there are probably 10
crashes every day. Unless there is something that is both known and unique
about a particular crash (even better that there would be a lesson in the
story), the "Airplane Crashed" story, with no additional information is
barely more newsworthy than "Sun Rose Again Today"....

Maybe a lot of people don't look at the NTSB database everyday and
if they saw a crash in their home state, if might catch grab their
attention.
I personally would be interested if I saw a thread, "Plane down in MA".

Just my two cents worth.
