View Full Version : Deltahawk lost their website
Oops! Looks like somebody at Deltahawk forgot to renew the domain
registration, and now they'll hafta either pay the ransom to get it back or
pick a new one. The old one was www.deltahawkengines.com. Anybody know
anything?

That web site is working fine from here, and it sure looks like their
site, unless the ransomer is cleverly masquerading as them to up the
pressure :)
Why did you conclude that they lost the domain and someone was ransoming
them?

All,
Crossed wires down at the ISP, but everything is back up running now.
E-mail was down for a day or two also so if you sent something and it
bounced send it again.

As of 5:39 PM Pacific time, I still get a web page for godaddy.com
webhosting at that address. So apparently it works from Canada, but not
from out here.

Well it looks like you might have stumbled upon the question of the day.
The deltahawk link works fine here in Alberta, Canada.
Keep us informed when you figure it out. I'm sure some in this group

And Louisiana... Could be your DNS got hijacked... Perhaps flush the
cache and start over again...
Open a Command Prompt window, on the command line, type:
IPCONFIG /FLUSHDNS
and press the "enter" key.

The DeltaHawk site works for me but http://www.subaruaircraft.com/ didn't.
This is the site for the Eggenfellner Aircraft Engine

I should have mentioned in the first post that I'm in Northern California!
Deltahawk's site is back online for me now, which is good, because I'm
really rooting for their engines to catch on.
For the Eggenfellner Subaru page, I get the NTT/Verio hosting page.

The site works fine from here in SD.
Here is what I found for their domain registration record:
Registrant:
DeltaHawk Engine Corp
10698 South 76th Street
Franklin, Wisconsin 53132
United States
Registered through: GoDaddy.com
Domain Name: DELTAHAWKENGINES.COM
Created on: 14-Mar-97
Expires on: 15-Mar-14
Last Updated on: 26-Mar-04
They just renewed it a few days ago.... wonder if
they were late a few days. But they are OK now to 2014.

That's just the nature of DNS... If a site is moved to a server with a
different IP it sometimes takes a while for the rest of the net to get
the new address.

Try: http://www.eggenfellneraircraft.com/
Egg may have given up that subaruaircraft.com domain page. It's also
possible that Subaru disputed the domain name with WIPO, in which case
Eggenfellner will probably have to give it up.
Subaru's parent did make a small GA plane called the Aero Subaru some 30
years ago. GA (and even more so, XA) is barely hanging on in
super-regulated Japan.

Not much DeltaHawk, their ISP, or their registrant can do. I see you are
on comcast (formerly ATTBI) which is more important to the DNS you get
fed than where you are physically. If there is a problem it is with
Comcast's DNS servers.
DNS changes filter through the net over a period of some days.
