View Full Version : Rec.Aviation "Rogue's Gallery" Update

Jay Honeck
December 1st 04, 02:26 PM
The Rogue's Gallery is a website created solely so that users of
rec.aviation have a place to post pictures of themselves and their
airplanes.

See it at: http://alexisparkinn.com/rec_aviation.htm

Recent additions include:

- From Carmel, Indiana, Jon Kraus and his terrific '79 Mooney M20J
http://alexisparkinn.com/rogue's_gallery_i_-_p.htm#K

- From Long Island, NY, Marco Leon and his beautiful '78 Piper Warrior II.
http://alexisparkinn.com/rogue's_gallery_i_-_p.htm#L

- From Kelowna, British Columbia, Tony Roberts, and his great '67 Cessna
Skyhawk
http://alexisparkinn.com/rogue's_gallery_q_-_z.htm#R

- From Lake-of-the-Hills, Illinois, Nathan Young, and his excellent '71
Piper Cherokee 180.
http://alexisparkinn.com/rogue's_gallery_q_-_z.htm#Y

Didn't you ever wonder what some of the guys and gals on this group LOOK
like? Didn't you ever wonder what they were flying? The "Rogue's Gallery"
is truly a marvelous way for everyone here to get to see each other's
aircraft, and to bridge the gap between the written word and the real world.

Want *your* picture(s) in the Gallery? Just shoot me an email at
, attach a few pix of you and your steed, give me a
little bio, and *voila!* -- your aircraft will be up there for the rest of
us to drool over!

How do you determine which adjective to attach to which airplane?

Just make sure it's "good beer" by Jay's standards. "Not good beer"
means the prices are multiplied by a factor of 10, and your room rates
double. :-)

I know. I have been thinking about what I would realistically do if I had
skiis. I'm not sure that I would use them enough. I'd want hydrualic wheel
skis and I don't like the idea of having the extra weight of the controller,
pump lines ect even in the summer. The whole backcountry preheating thing is
kind of a PITA too. I'm still pondering whether to get skis...

Mike, have you seen "Badwater Bill"'s listing? He's got, like, 30 pix!

Helio Couriers are about the coolest plane around. You can send me as many
as you'd like, and I'll put new ones up for you (and us!) anytime.

Send 'em my way!

Ahh, you're the one with the helio. I've been watching your
transition progress.

Sure climbs steep. Only plane on the field that seems to climb
steeper is our Kodiak but then again 3000fpm is hard to beat :)

Get some skis- we're planning a N. ID ski fly-out (probably to MT) the
week after Christmas.

Mike, you should read the article in Sport Aviation about the modified
Helio two guys created. It has a 750 horsepower turbine and extended
wings. It also has the most hilariously outlandish landing gear I've
ever seen. The main wheels are knobby mud and snow truck tires and
the nose gear is off an F-101 Voodoo. It's got a stack of train horns
attached to the nose gear. They're there just for fun effect. They
use them on short final to scatter the wildlife from back country
landing strips. They defined "wildlife" as their friends who were
already on the ground... ;-)

I was working out on papa when that thing went by one day and blew its'
horns. Scattered? I almost scattered sh*t all over the taxiway!

Seriously, I looked all over for the crash truck, because in my mind, that
is the only thing out there that could have made that $!&# NOISE!
