:) Maybe they'll only run the same show 10 instead of 30 times a week.

I'll bet they don't drop a single show that is now on Wings.

Does this mean we'll never see Kyle pass her checkride?

I deleted wings from my channel line up due to lack of new content. I think
they are just going to change the name and try to attract a different type
crowd and provide the same content as the wings channel maybe delete some GA
programs and rerun more of the same military programs. It seems like a bad
way of getting out of providing new content. Give it some time and discovery
channel networks will keep losing viewers and be forced to shut down or
change content. But changing a name how lame! they tried it a few years back
with the science channel.

Today I turned it on during lunch and it announced that I was watching "The
Military Channel" on Discovery Wings. WTF does that mean? That statement
makes Discovery Wings sound like a network, and The Military Channel a
channel on the Discovery Wings Network. How bizarre, but to be expected
from those with such little imagination.

You mean they are finally going to start calling it by a name more
reflective of their actual programming? It's about time...

Good one! That is funny! Just think "Oh my god . . .", "OK, hold it there, Kyle".
Taken out of context, it's really funny!
When viewed with the video, it makes perfect sense . . .

A friend of mine used to say the History Channel ought to be called the
Hitler Channel. Now instead of WWII documentaries every night we get Modern
Marvels: The Garbage Can.

From where I sit, it's been The Military Channel for several months
already...

I held off subscribing to Digital Cable for a long time, but finally took
the plunge about 3 months ago.

One of the things that I wanted out of Digital Cable was the Discovery
Wings channel, which I saw one time at my brother-in-law's house.

In typical "grass is greener" fashion, once I got the Digital Cable, I
found that all the shows that interested me (ie, that had any relationship
to GA - like the Learning to Fly series and the one with the two guys who
build a plane from sheet metal) are never actually on. Instead, it's been
all the shows highlighting military planes...

So now they've made it "official" as the website says. But it seems to me
like it was unofficial for a while already...

I wouldn't mind that so much if they had a rotation of more than two dozen
shows. I'll watch "Wings of the Red Star" once and three weeks later I tune
in and there it is again. And just in case you miss it around dinner time,
it will be on again just before bedtime!

On Comcast, Wings Channel watches you!

Bummer... I always wanted to get that channel to watch the only 3 GA
prorams on learning to fly and the 2 on building a plane. My step-son gets
the thing and I just bought him a VCR to tape the programs for me!

Yeah, it irritates me, too, that they never play all the thousands of other
high quality General Aviation programs that are out there.

C'mon, guys, there just isn't that much stuff out there specific to GA. We
make up, what, one tenth of one percent of one percent of one percent of the
viewing population?

I still love the channel despite the repeats. One a month or so, I'll catch
something I haven't seen before and learn something I didn't know.
Otherwise, I stick to Foxnews and the Science channel. I'll continue to
glance at the Military Channel every now and then, too.

Doesn't look like she ever did. Not found in the FAA database, anyway.
Probably just got the student ticket to star in the show and then dropped
it.

Husband and series director Scott is there.

They should rename most TV channels to "Wall-to-wall house makeovers"

Yeah, what is UP with that?

I mean, "This Old House" was cool -- but now there are clones of it on every
single cable channel.

If my wife is any example, it's easy to see why it's popular. She
watches it all the time to gather ideas on house/kitchen/bathroom
mods.

She gets to see exactly what the modifications look like when done so
she can decide if it's something worth doing in our place. She can't
be the only woman watching. In fact, this might be a woman thing.

You're probably right. "This Old House" was somewhat unique, in that "Norm"
got all of us guys to watch (Oooooo, lots of powah tools...) and "Bob" got
all the chicks interested ("Just look at the way that mauve border opens up
this room!") somehow without looking limp-wristed.

I don't like the new ones as much -- especially not those stupid "Trading
Spaces" shows, where some ignorant bimbo takes a perfectly fine living room
and paints it orange and green....and then the owners have to come home and
pretend to love it.

I'll bet over half of those rooms get a nice coat of beige paint two days
after the producers leave town.

These days it's "Desert Sand", beige is too plebian, has no panache.

I'm a guy. Seldom do I go beyond the colors in the 16 color box of crayons
and when I do, it's only to the 24 color box... (-;
