Anyone seen any good written reviews of the various 406 EPIRBs and PLBs
currently on the market?

What about exeperience? Looking for something small enough to keep on
one's person but that would have decent battery life in cold water.
Needs to be waterproof too.

Helen,

For reviews of survival equipment for aviation, go to www.equipped.org
It is a nonprofit organization (Equipped To Survive) dedicated to
education regarding survival for pilots. The person who runs it, Doug
Ritter, is generally accepted as one of the most knowledgable persons
in the aviation survival field and has written widely on the subject.
He was also one of the folks who helped get the PLBs approved for use
in the U.S.

All the best,
Rick
