No you don't.
I've lived there for the past 7 years. In that time, I've seen
people hang from traffic lights, climb New York New York a la King
Kong, the Strip closed to all cars at 3pm, fireworks the past 4 years
(which aren't bad), and just pure mayhem that doesn't end until at
least 2pm the following day.
If I had the urge to go out, I went to the airport settee area
parallel to the 25s, listened to ATC and watched planes land/take off,
see the fireworks, and avod the commotion on the Strip. It's fun, yes,
but it's also rather hellish.
