Just as I was leaving Bartow today in my homebuilt for the flight back
home to NC, I was informed there were two accidents at SNF today. One
involved a helicopter at Choppertown, and the other was a Glasair that
dropped in on the runway. The reports I got were that it went end over
end, fiberglass pieces going everywhere. What was left of it was the
cockpit area that ended up upside down on the runway. No one
considered it a survivalable accident. But I'd like to know one way or
the other. I'm building a Glasair, and when I here about one crashing,
I definitely am interested in the cause.
