Hey all, I have an old, 1975, Dacron covered rudder, wood structure,
who's finish has litteraly peeled off down to the fabric. All I had to
do was lay down a strip of duct tape and lift it off, and everything
down to the fabric came with it. The original application was dope,
and the fabric seems to have a light green product still stuck to
it.(original brushed on application?) The fabric is tight and in great
condition and the structure is good and straight so I'd rather not
totally strip it. Question, could I just clean the fabric surface with
MEK then re-apply the dope, Randolf system and paint in the standard
sequence? The rudder is for a glider with 4.5lb. wingloading,
experimental catagory. Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Don
