Hello listers! I'm extremely excited to have passed my private check ride
in a R22 last Sunday!

Happy rotoring...

Congrats! Now the fun starts, but be careful - still lots to learn.

Glad to hear you made it Kent! Where did you take your check ride?
How was it? Anything come up that you had second thoughts about? I
hope someday to take a check ride and would like to know what to
expect, though I'm sure it's different depending on who the check ride
is with.

Best of luck and hope the fun continues for you,

Eric D

I took my check ride with our chief instructor, Mr. Seshima, who's also an
FAA certified examiner, at Classic Helicopter Corp in Seattle. The only
thing I would have done differently would be to select a day when the wind
is not blowing too hard for the practical portion of the test. We went out
on a windy day, blowing 9-11 kts. It was so bumpy outside which made
demonstration of some maneuvers difficult. So other than that, it was not
too bad. I was glad when it was all over.

Be sure to know your emergency procedures like the back of your hand. Read
them once a day so that they're engraved in your brain forever.

Good luck and take that check ride soon, while the knowledge is still fresh
in your mind.
