Just went to do my daily window shopping trip through the W & W classifieds. I love the new site. It seems like a great improvement so far. Now back to my search.

the only thing i can see, is that in the classified section, the botton to go to the next page is at the to, so you have to scroll back up. it would be nice to have that at the bottom, so that when you get to the bottom of the page, you clickthe link for the next page w/o having to scroll back up.

Good suggestion. The web developers are working bottom navigation.

I haven't found the "recently sold" section in the new website. Have you discontinued it or have I just overlooked it?

I was looking for that as well.
I find the new format to be less efficient. It takes a lot longer to get the same information. One of the great things about the old format was that you could scroll through lots of ads quickly and have all the information as to price, condition, equipment, location in the country, who the seller is without having to click a bunch of links and go to different windows. It now takes substantially longer.
There is an option to increase the number of ads per page, but it doesn't work. Even if it did, you still have to click on the picture to get any details and then do the math to get the seller information and possible location. Pictures are nice, but I would like to have more information than just the price available without having to click a link.

Developing a full classified section with seller login, multiple pictures, automated notifications, expanded detailed description, standard formatted fields and more takes careful planning......we have been planning. The current version isn't our end plan, only part of the initial website launch.
Recently sold wasn't overlooked but not included. We can add the page if enough people want it back.
It's important to hide seller information from bots that crawl the web searching for someone to scam or spam. Doing the math is one way to protect information.

You could start a crowdfunding campaign to help fund the now missing recently sold section?
We really need this information handy. In all seriousness, it was a useful history for many of us.

What Craig and Sean said.
The "Recently Sold" section is quite valuable to someone who is just starting their journey with SAS (Sailplane Acquisition Syndrome).

"Roger that...." I also vote for the return of the "Recently Sold" section. Over the years I found it very helpful. Not to make more work for you, but I also found the sections where ads were "not renewed" or where an aircraft was "not sold" also very useful!

It also is a good measure of how quickly things move. My vote is to have it put back when you can.
I don't like it as much as the old, but it is a change, and it takes some getting use to. Keep working on it. I remember Chip Garner talking about the 302 and saying "You know, if we can make a vario as good as the L-Nav, that would be pretty good." Fast loading, with as much plane detail as possible is at the top of my list. Don't mind having to "do the math" to see who and how to contact.
Thanks,
Steve

I'm with Renny. Please add back both Recently Sold and Not Renewed

I agree with Steve, the "Recently Sold" section was a very good measure of market demand and gave both buyers and sellers a barometer of current market conditions. In fact, I think it may also motivate some potential buyers to stop kicking tires and act; especially when they see a glider they've been eyeing, sell within a few short days.

I can't see the detail. I know it's something to do with AdBlock and
I've disabled it for this site but the best I could get is a quick flash
of the seller information than it disappeared. I don't want use
Internet Explorer just to look at this site.
BTW, I saw a link on the new site that said something like, "Want to see
the old website?" but I can't find it now.

The Segelflug site is easier to scan quickly, even though in German. The old W&W site had a nice mix of photos and text. The Barnstormers site has wide columns of text with thumbnails of up to five photos. Glider Pilot Network has text with a single thumbnail.
I prefer not to have to click on a photo to get the text info, it is too slow to look through for more than a couple of entries. I personally would prefer to have smaller photos with full text along side or underneath. If a larger format photo is desired, click on the photo to enlarge, as is done with the Barnstormers or Glider Pilot Network websites.
Thanks for carrying on providing the info that Tim provided for all these years.

Suggestion for W&W - If you want to keep seller details safe from screen
scrapers, etc. you could always require a login to access them. That is
what gliderpilot.net does. Works for me.

Sean,
I like the new site. Clean and fresh. Change is always problematic. As a person that has used the listing to make a purchase I would also like the recently sold and dropped page back. It was a valuable tool. No login... please.

New buttons have been added to the classified section for Recently Sold, Cancelled Not Sold and Cancelled Not Renewed. Alex Franke, Wings & Wheels classified webmaster, will be updated those sections from the last three weeks, after his homework of course. Alex soloed in a 2-33 this past summer on his 14th birthday.

It would be very helpful if the asking price was included in the Recently Sold section so price research could be done. It looks like the first 3 recently sold gliders have asking price but none of the others do. Not clear if this is a coding error or if there was a data format change causing the missing data or what.
In any case, I commend your responsiveness to make the site updates so quickly. Well done!
