Thanks Ricardo.
Thankfully, Malaysia is a very tolerant country so I encountered no problems
while taking photos at the airport. Clearly, other countries have a
different attitude. I seem to recall a British anorak plane-spotter was
arrested fairly recently in Greece, for example. Many years ago I was in
Entebbe and saw a large notice at the airport forbidding photography of
military aircraft. The only military aircraft in sight were a couple of
decrepit Dakotas. I did wonder what possible significance could be attached
to them, but dutifully obeyed the injunction.
Cheers,
Indrek Aavisto

Good thing they weren't watching me with my load of camera gear too
closely at AMS.

I hate to say this but something isn't working quite right here. So
here is attempt #3.
If it doesn't fly this time I will switch Usenet clients and give it a
final try.

That's certainly an atmospheric picture. Was it HDR from multiple exposures,
or from a single exposure?

That was a 5 exposure HDR. I was waiting to board and just tried an
opportunistic capture in what was questionable light.
You can definitely get a bit more out of the HDR than this:

Thanks for that.
It looks pretty gloomy. You must have very steady hands (or a tripod) to
have used shutter speeds low enough to get the brighter exposures.

With the D300S I get 5-7 frames/second depending on exposure time. I
have hone my technique for shooting handheld HDR exposure bracket sets.
Personally I prefer better light to shoot in.
With that set the brightest exposure was 1/30 sec @ f/6.3, the darkest,
1/500 sec @ f/6.3. The normal 0 EV exposure was 1/250 sec @ f/6.3.
