Scout vs Pawnee. Which would have more of a tendancy to nose over on soft
turf. ?

Never flown a Scout, but fly a Pawnee off soft turf all the time and it is absolutely no big deal - except for getting mud splashed on your face if you taxi too fast with the window down ;^).
Super Cub with a big engine and Borer prop is OK too, but you have to watch for prop strike and not be too aggressive bringing the tail up at the start of the takeoff.
Note that we have bigger than stock tires on our towplanes - not tundra, just a size up. That really helps when it's soft.

Kirk is spot-on. I have towed a lot in both and neither wants to nose over as both have a lot of weight on the tail. As Kirk said upgrading tires to 8.50x10's is a good idea for soft conditions.
Above all, taxi slowly, especially downwind, keep the stick in the appropriate place relative to the wind and STAY OFF THE BRAKES!

Fully agree with previous comments. Remember that you want to stay away from wheel landings, and that the power of the Pawnee will make a big difference in takeoff distance on a soft field.

I do mostly wheel landings but that's because of the stiff crosswinds
that we usually have at Moriarty. Never had a problem. (Yet...)

I'll bite!
There generally is a summertime "monsoon season" throughout the Rocky Mountain
region. I'm reliably informed by Moriarty locals that the powdery reddish
stuff commonly blown about there and often entrained in dust devils isn't
"dust" but "enchantment." When enchantment gets wet, I doubt the locals call
it "mud" but have a far more positive euphemism!

True dat! You'd really have to spike it on to dig the wheels into the
"ground". :-D

Yaaas... The monsoon. I haven't seen enough rain yet to make the
pavement soft!
