Just wondering if anyone knows of a good web site where I can check out how
to make my own cockpit, Also where In Toronto or the GTA ( I live in
whitby ) I would look for aircraft instrments for the flight simulator?

Jeff,

I posed a similar question earlier in the month and Joe kindly directed me
to http://www.acesim.com/ready.html

while Kev offered the following great sites ....

..For overall DIY info:
http://www.mikesflightdeck.com

For cheap I/O devices:
http://betainnovations.com

For displays:
http://www.hvwtech.com

I hope that helps.

Careful Jeff!!!! You are about to embark on an addiction from which there is
no easy return. It can be expensive, although not necessarily terrible so -
depends on how "real" you want to get and how handy you are...

Besides the excellent links below, check out www.flightdecksolutions.com for
panels, www.goflightinc.com for easy to use avionics and other hardware,
www.chproducts.com for low-end flight controls or www.flypfc.com for
higher-end controls. For instruments checkout www.simkits.com, or if you
want great looking stuff that can be displayed on a monitor check out
www.projectmagenta.com. If you really have some bucks to spend, check out
www.flightillusion.com. Play their video - it shows some fantastic
instruments that they will make to order. You can check out Mike's links
page for tons of useful stuff... and there are plenty of knowledgeable folks
who will be happy to assist you at every turn.

Be sure how you have understanding wife though, for when you tell her you
need to take over the garage or a room in your house to build an airplane :)

Welcome, and Good Luck!
