I have a Discus B without a headrest. I would like to fabricate one but I don't want to re-invent the wheel. Has anyone done this? If so, are any pictures available so I can shamelessly copy it? Or, if there are any factory headrests for later models a picture or two of them would be very helpful. I would assume they would attach to the seat back.

Thanks!

Before I figured out my seat back, parachute, head rest configurations,
the head rest in my LAK-17a was uncomfortable for me. In the short term
I made a head rest by sewing together two micro fiber cloths on three
sides, with a flap on the open end like an inexpensive sandwich bag. I
stuffed with the amount of foam necessary, folded in the flap, threaded
shoe laces through it, and tied it to my seat back. It worked very well
until I got my thicker ram air parachute and then I reinstalled the
factory head rest.

It doesn't have to be pretty, only functional.

Google the term "recumbent bicycle headrests" and you will find a few
examples that may serve.

I replaced the PU foam in my headrest with Conform foam. My head no longer bounces on the headrest.

I have a Discus-2 and don't like its headrest one little bit. To my way of thinking, I don't want a headrest at all. I want a neck rest. For the last 20+ years I have used a 4 to 6" neck roll. Diameter dependent on what it takes to put my head in the right position to see over the nose. My neck roll is about 2 feet long and sits on top of the parachute. A neck roll allows me to swivel my head from side to side with no interference with my hat (headrest moves hat when head is swiveled). My neck roll is made up of my land-out jacket and rain slicker that is carefully folded and rolled up with large rubber-bands on each end to keep it together.
Works for me,
JJ
