View Full Version : Don't Want to be Screwed

Howdy,

I want to buy a kit plane, but I don't want to have the manufacturer fold in
the time between payment and delivery. Is there any way to prevent the risk
falling entirely on my shoulders? How about an escrow arrangement? Any ideas
would be appreciated.

thanks,
tom pettit

If you deal with a reputable manufacturer such as Van's
Aircraft to name one... you'll have little to fear.

Yes, or Chris Heintz, or Randy Schlitter, or the Europa crowd, or several
others.

John's right about Van's - but the list beyond that is pretty thin.
Just about other manufacturer in the business is or recently has been
on thin ice (including many honest, good companies that I like a lot.)

Have you settled on a kit?

Consider building from plans. Lowe's and Home Depot are likely gonna
be around a while.... :-)
