I can't remember the name, but a believe it's in Puerto Rico, and had a 'z'
in it's name.
In real life I believe it's a tourist resort.

Not much, but I hope it helps a bit.

Cheers.

I was nearly correct - I just remembered that I was thinking of Constanza in
the Dominican Republic (MDCZ).
I don't know if this is the one you were thinking of, but it's a single
short runway in a box canyon.

restore my system,,, my the way for everyone else i have 100's of aircraft
for 2002 all freeware if your'll looking for something different i can
e-mail or burn them all on a disk to mail just send a self addressed shipper
for a cd. and share someone may have something i don't have so i would do
the same thing to get it..i'm redoing my web site www.rigtrash.com to put
the Fligh Sim page back up so ya can download to your hearts content.

There is an airstrip in a volcano in Ecquador - maybe that's it.
Can't remember it's name either though. Sorry.

I have com across several flying the world tours
hosted by skysserver.com. There are 40 tours or
hoplists that were hosted using fshost and i flew
most of them. A new tour every week. I guess I
started arond tour 15 or so, somewhere in South
America. Because the tours are done only the
latest is still being hosted, but on the server
there are maps of every tous.
Apart from those box-canyon strips there are many
more strange and wonderful strips to challenge
your skills.

BTW: those box canyon strips are flaws in the MS
mesh that is used. There are tablemountain strips
too, also in the mentioned worldtours and also
caused by mesh problems in the orgininal MS mesh.

If you are looking for just that sort of problem in FS2004 or FS 2003
then try Bhojpur in Nepal (VNBJ).

It can be done but not by trying to take off from the default position
the simulator puts you in! I find it difficult to believe there is
really an airfield like this anywhere in the world. Landing is tricky: I
leave you to work out the technique and the best aircraft.

I tried Constanza and that is almost as fiendish. I just got out in the
Caravan using emergency power, one notch of flaps and climbing very
steeply. I had to reverse direction to find the lowest bit of canyon
wall. Constanza does have runway however. I just got back in again. I
confess I used slew to find the airport(?) again!

Randall,
If you want to see a REALLY deep hole, go to N05 46.65 W60 34.16 near
Kamarang, Guyana (SYKM) in FS2004. This hole is over 100,000 ft deep, and
has a rock spire right next to it that is ~61,000 ft high!

I think it might be SESM.

There's a couple of these in "Doherty's Dangerous and Difficult Approaches"
available on avsim and the like. I've only flew a few of them so far but
they definately keep your adrenaline up :)
