Does anyone know if Flight Unlimited 3 is available any where and if it
will run on Windows XL?
Thank you.

eBay and it should run on XP (just guessing, ran mine on 98SE before selling
it), not sure about XL (;->))

You decided to go for FU3 rather than FU2 then? (your earlier thread).

I have both FU1 and FU2, but as I said earlier I can't get either to run on
XL. I do have a machine that my wife uses currently which has 98 on it and
which she won't be using begining soon. So I will put the FU1&2 on it and
if I can get FU3 at a reasonable price will put it on my XL machine.
Everyone knows that a man can't have too many toys and I have also decided
to forgo buying another real airplane and will probably buy a condo in
Spain or Mexico. The kind of flying I used to do is probably better done a
simulator at my age anyway.
As I said before Flight Unlimited 1 did the best job of any PC based
simulator for acrobatics that I have tried. If there is a better one I
would like to try it. FU2 wasn't quite as good as one, but you could
practice your formation flying with the airliners. I don't know much about
FU3 as far as flying realism, however.
I hope one day another company will take over the FU software and come out
with some new ones or someone else will come up with a realistic simulator.
The processing power is available in todays PCs, I just wonder if there are
enough people out there whot like to do the kind of flying that I do to
make it commercially worth while. At one time I got so unhappy with the
way that the simulators flew that i designed my own, at least the
aerodynamics part, but never got beyond that.

The largest community of FU series users is located on AVSIM. You can access
the FU forum here:
http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=show_topics&forum=130
And there you will find info on availability of all of the FU series.

Hi Jake,
I successfully used FU3 on 98SE, Win2K and WinXP. I still have it
installed on my XP machine, but I now exclusively fly MSFS 9 since
getting my new computer. FU3 is a great sim if you are working on a
computer with limited processing power.
FU3 isn't available retail, and the company that made it, Looking Glass
Studio, is out of business. Rumor has it that the employees who made FU3
were also disgruntle for having to make a Flight Sim, as that wasn't
really their forte.
Best,
Randy

Thanks for the info, I am looking for a copy now. My main issue with MSFS
is they do not handle stall maneuvers correctly, and mainly I like to
acrobatics.

Try the Real Air Cessna 170. I think it is a free download and is much more
accurate for aeros than the MS default Cessna. It will stall and spin pretty
well like the real thing. About the only aircraft in FS2004 that does:-)

Some planes are more accurately modeled than others. I've downloaded
quite a few planes that stall and spin correctly, while I've also
downloaded many that do not.
I found the Citabria (available for d/l off the net) to behave as you
might expect it to in real life.

Try flightsim.com, otherwise I can't remember. I can probably just put
it online for you d/l. Give me a day.
