From 1964 from my time on the Mid-Canada Line (MCL) and Ballistic
Missile Early Warning System (BMEWS).

Aircraft retained their RCAF colour scheme but with civilian markings.

Aircraft operated by Okanagan Helicopters, a BC company.

Cool it was. The Mid-Canada Line ran across Canada at 55° North and
temperatures could plummet -55° F quite easily. This was my
introduction to Canada following a life spent just outside balmy
Edinburgh (the real one in Scotland) where palm trees grew outdoors at
the university and which was about 100 miles further north.

Frank.
