Everybody is invited to the Houston area FIRC in January of 2017.
WHAT: The main goals of a FIRC, Flight Instructor Revalidation Clinic, include reducing the accident rate in soaring, increasing pilot awareness of soaring safety issues and disseminating training information and material.
WHEN: 21-22 Jan 2017 Saturday and Sunday 8am-6pm
WHO: A FIRC is aimed at glider instructors but everybody is encouraged to attend. You do not have to be a member of SCOH nor a glider pilot. Those interested in obtaining their glider instructor rating will be well served by attending this clinic.
The FIRC is also open to any pilot who is interested in learning more about the art of Soaring.
SSF FIRC's are open to any Flight Instructor wishing to renew their certificate. As of 2008, the SSF clinic can renew any Flight Instructor certificate (glider, airplane, rotorcraft, etc). Invite your airplane CFI friends and introduce them to soaring and they can renew their airplane CFI at the same time!
WHERE: The FIRC will be held at GHSA's, Greater Houston Soaring Association, clubhouse.
HOW MUCH: $150 but SCOH will reimburse SCOH members if they obtain their CFIG within one year of attending the FIRC.
