I'm new to soaring and want to take an intensive 5-7 day course that, I hope,
will include solo. I'm looking for a school that could put me up for the
week or has lodgings close by. I'm also looking for a school with a high
leval of instruction and safety. I live in WA. State so I would prefer a
school on this side of the Mississippi if possible. Any suggestions would
be greatly appreciated. Marc M.

Certainly you can get what you want at Minden (check the SSA website
for contacts, or the magazine). Also check www.northwestsoaring.com in
Cle Elum for something much closer to you.

Marc:

We would certainly invite you to fly with us.
Our web page answers many questions about rates, equipment,
schedule, and local accommodations only 12 miles off.

We are past summer's heat, but still enjoy nice soaring conditions
into fall. Winter brings another style of soaring, in wave. We fly and
teach year-round.
If I can answer more specific questions, please mail us directly.

Mile High Gliding in Boulder, CO, offers a "5-day" course, training in the
forgiving and accessible 2-33, additionally offering the great secenery and
soaring conditions of the Continental Divide. They recommend a B&B just
around the corner but there are many more close-by hotels in the University
town. See links to "instruction" and "directions" (scroll to
"accomodations").
