Dan's post unfortunately didn't start a new thread as intended.

Since we intentionally fly close to them, most alerts are from other gliders.
I find audible alerts of mode C or S equipped gliders sharing a thermal to be "noise". For me, an audible alert marks the only time to look at the traffic display.
Meanwhile, FLARM itself works pretty much as intended, although recently heard collision warnings about the other end of the tow rope. Neither of those units were PF.
