Our 2-33 has an original dual Schweizer probe on the nose
bowl. One of the probes is pitot but I can not figure out if
the other is the static or a TE probe of sorts. Does anyone
know for sure?

Thanks

If I recall correctly it is typically a static port.

If the holes are on the sides, top or bottom of the tube it is static.
If the holes are on that back side of the tube in such a way that in
flight it would create suction at the hole then it is a TE probe.

The manual says pitot, static.
Cheers!

Ha! Trick question!

For a 2-33, static and total energy are the same thing!

Oh, you must mean like the ETA, static is the only way it won't try to kill you.

Good job, Kraut.

HA! WRONG ANSWER!
2-33 has Pitot- The one with the hole in the end. and Static- the one
with the
sealed end , ring around it, and hole in the side.
Total energy requires negative pressure equal to pitot relative to
static and requires 3rd probe.
Have these on all our 2-33's so students get right info from the
beginning.

It was a joke, Hank.

The 2-33 has some truble gettting out of its own way.
