You know you can make DVD's from your personal video tapes using a DVD recorder.

It's extremely easy to make DVDs using a modern PC. We've got a 1 GHz
Apple iMac and have put together a few. Dump footage from digital
camcorder into iMovie, edit it up to taste, add chapter markers for the
DVD, export to iDVD, make up some menus (or use the automatic ones),
burn to DVD. For things you don't want to edit much it can easily be
under an hour from having the footage in the computer to walking away
leaving the DVD compressing&burning, and three our four hours total
elapsed. Or, you can spend days or weeks editing if you want :-)
The hard part is shooting something interesting in the first place.

FWIW, HP has a new VHS player/DVD writer combo, but you still need the
PC/USB connection with enough GB/GHz for processing. Previewed at my
computer club meeting 5 weeks ago. To be available this month IIRC.

soaring footage is

There are stills and a quicktime movie trailer from the film that are
