How do we go about handicapping flights made on different continents in
different ships? There are several online competition sites in operation but
they seem to apply a standard ship handicap without compensating for the
place or conditions prevailing at the time of the flight.

How can the guy in a Ka 6 in the UK with 4000' cloudbase and 5 knot average
climbs hope to compare his performance to the guy in an ASW28 at 55kg sq m
flying in South Africa with 15000' cloudbase and 7 M/S thermals?

The Hilton Cup OLC gets around the problem by dividing the globe up into
areas with somewhat similar conditions.

We could have a R.A.S. World Championship

I'd rather just fly and not think about it.
