Bill Snead has based his PW-5 at Marfa in preparation for some downwind dashes.
Bill joined John Byrd (also flying a PW-5 provided by Jayne & Frank Reid) to
fly some practice tasks here yesterday (December 7th.)

It may not be "booming", but the spectacular scenery is snow-free.
Thermals year-round. Aerotows and services available at "Marfa Gliders".
See WAC Chart CH-23 or El Paso sectional to plan your flights.

Dick Johnson's 2004 spring wave camp is April 3 -10 (when the SW wind blows).

Dual instruction available year-round to fine-tune your cloud reading,
thermalling techniques, accuracy flying. Flight reviews, towpilot endorsements
or 12 month tow recurrency checks. Horseback riding, hiking and star gazing as
well.
RV Park on Marfa Airport, or stay in our comfy guest houses in Marfa.

Soar the high country of west Texas. We'll show you a good time!

Burt,

I have really enjoyed the flying at Marfa this winter. In mid November the
logger showed 5 knots to 10,400. Yesterday it was 4 knots to 9400.

I appreciate having a tow plane in West Texas.
