OK, folks - got a question here. Are there any sailplane manufacturers in
China? I have found obscure FAA references to a Shenyang HU-1 Seagull and
HU-2 Petrel, but nothing more on the actual gliders other than a reference
to the Shenyang Sailplane Factory on a German historical aviation site.
Most sites I've found for Chinese soaring clubs have European gliders and
Chinese tow planes.

Anyone have any info? Thanks!

I am not sure but tme most probably the Chinese were producing SZD Mucha =
or SZD Jaskolka under licence from Poland, this may be their own =
designation, however of course these may be an entirely Chinese =
sailplanes.

They are producing/produced many gliders of their own design although no
modern high performance ships.
