Bill Bartell, sold the glider to the production company, and then flew it. I
don't recall the glider model.

You'll find everything else with GoogleGroups: type in the title of
the movie and the word "glider".

No mention of the tow pilot, the flights were all filmed after
mid-night.

The tow plane (Scout) came from Santa Ynez, CA. I don't remember who the tow
pilot was. Filming was done north of Los Angeles (near Magic Mtn).

Great we got that one down now how about:

1) The glider type and pilot on an episode of "Lassie"

2) The glider type and pilot on an episode of "Black Sheep Squadron"

Gotta be honest here, I know the glider types, but not the pilot

There also was a Blanik L13 in an episode of Dukes of Hazard.

What was a glider doing in Black Sheep?

Don't remember that one, but I will guess 1-26 or 1-23.

This one intrigues me, how did they fit this into a
WW2 F4U series?

2) The glider type and pilot on an episode of 'Black Sheep Squadron

Believe this was a 2-33. Made use of the stealthy sailplane to spot a Japanese
radar ship that would run and ride when fighters approached. 2-33 transmitted
the position of the ship and the fighters sunk it. 2-33 was shot at couple
times before the good guys arrived.

Janus2k wins the Black Sheep question - he got the plot right, and I'm not
sure if it is a 2-22 or 2-33 either.

The lassie answer is a 2-32. Woman pilot named Carole (in the show) and
they were doing an survey of some sort. I think that the helmet she was
wearing was a really "special".

Now can anyone tell me more about the Dukes of Hazard Blanik? That would
have to be really good for a laugh.
