"This plane was bombing Chichijima, some sources say it was
hit by AA fire, but most say another Avenger was hit and
there was a collision. Pilot Bob King told his crew of
Grady York and James Dye to bail out, then he made a water
landing and was rescued. York and Dye were captured by the
Japanese and were both executed."

King must have felt awful... =(

Does look like some impact damage to the top of the fuselage forward
of the tail, as well.
