We are going to install a panel mount radio etc. in our 2-33. Where
is a good place to mount the battery? We want to be able to remove it
easily for charging.

Thanks

One consideration would be aft of the front seat.. on a cross member..
forward of the rear stick, attached to the front seat back, be sure to
provide a suitable battery box, and check that the rear stick movement is
not limited by the box. That means it will have to be low, on the floor.
Also forward of the stick will help protect it from the rear seat pax (CFIG)
boots on entry and exit.

The thinking here is to not put to much weight forward, it's a CG issue,
placing a battery forward near or over the current ballast box just ads to
forward CG when flying heavy front seat pax or students..

Another thought is to build a battery box up behind the rear seat, behind
the head liner. The problem there is you are constantly removing the fragile
plastic to get to the battery unless you have a hanger and power system to
be able to recharge the battery without removing it.

Would like to see what you come up with.

We have installed battery box for typical 7 AH battery in rear seat
area next to left hip of rear seat pilot. Fuse holder installed inline
at the battery connector. Easy to get in and out. No affect on CG.
Good luck UH
