Anyone else catch the 2 second glider video shown as part of the Buick
invitational yesterday? I didn't see the entire match, but I was
visiting relatives and caught probably the last 30-45 minutes (John
Daly was on the 17th I think when I started watching). There was a
quick glider shot of someone down along the beach in a fiberglass
glider. Anyone want to take credit for this? I was in too much shock
to look for contest numbers (and i think it was too far away to see
the N number). It was a great (but too short) clip.

I'm assuming this was someone flying out of Torrey Pines.

The Torrey operation for the season starts next weekend. The spectators park
on the strip for the golf tournament.
There are a few motor gliders that fly in when the cliff is working.
Torrey info can be found at agcsc.org

Actually, I caught this as well. Took a split second to realize that these
were RC Gliders, proably 1 meter class.

There was a shot of a guy in a paraglider just before that which gave a very
good scale comparison, so it was easy to tell these were not the "real
thing."
