I'm considering the purchase of a Jantar 42-1 2A. I've seen it written that the
aircraft has a listed service life of 3000 hrs. Is this correct? Has it been
extended? Any other comments on this ship?
Thanks Alot!

Hi as for lifespan the best idea would be to contact someone from:
http://www.szdjezow.com.pl/
they can extend it or even refurbish it, bringing the hours to zero.

David,
Service bulletin SB 031/87 extends life from 1500 to
3000 hours. You can go to:
http://www.gliding.co.uk/bgainfo/technical/ads.htm
In this URL the British Gliding Assocation maintains
a list of AD's for the diferent manufacturers. Download
the document for PZL and you can see all the AD's compiled
for the different Jantar models.
I own a Jantar Std 3 and for this model bulletin BE
035/88 extends life to 6000 hours. It is very likely
that life has been extended to this same limit for
the Jantar you are intrested on.
You can contact the SZD distributor for North America
at:
They are very helpful. They faxed to me all the bulletins
for my glider
Regards
Miguel
