I know this is a recurring post, but I haven't been able to connect to the
SSA's website for weeks! Is anybody else having difficulty? Any
suggestions?

I am not able to get to it either.
When others have noted problems getting into the site in the past I
have always been able to get access. Not any more.

It pops right up for me and has for the last week. Maybe some of the net
guru's on r.a.s. might explain this. Is it a URL propagation or a peering
issue?

Works for me.
The lead news story recounts Bob Harris' amazing flight to 49,009 feet
back in '86. They didn't bother to caption the photo, but I assume that
it was taken fairly recently at Cal City, and that is Bob Harris sitting
in the cockpit. Is it just cynical old me, or has the account of the
flight been slightly sanitized for public consumption?

I could be wrong, but at the time wasn't his record flight not mentioned
in Soaring because of certain facts omitted from the account on the SSA
webpage?

I've been on the web site two or three times this week.. no problems..
but I was having problems during the convention.. I think the web/net master
came back and fixed something.. I forget what he said it was.

His certificate was pulled by FAA. Harris broke a few rules.

The web site has worked since the end of the convention for me,
although for the last couple of days the "Newsgroups" have been down.
