Can anyone think of a reason why there are separate mens & womens world
records? The ease of 'relief' is the only disadvantage I can think of for
women.
I'm not saying that I think there shouldn't be!

Wild guess here. Kinda like junior records. It's a way to
recognise a group that we as soaring pilots want to encourage,
recognise, and reward in our community, but who are underrepresented.
The more of such folks we can cheer for, the better, I think...
I don't really think it has anything to do with "disadvantaged."
