We are looking for a glider with better than 30:1 that will accommodate a
230lb. pilot comfortably. Must be durable (club machine), and easy to
transition to from a Grob 103. Any recommendations for a single place club
machine in the $22k region or less, preferably with trailer?

The Grob G-102 fits the bill, exactly. Same cockpit as front seat of G-103. New
guy feels right at home. Strong fixed gear will take incredible punishment. I
have seen a couple for sale at or below 22K.
