Sure miss this handy app. Other than SeeYou, what do you use to "replay" an IGC file?

http://glideport.aero/

You can provide it data real time thru from spot etc, but I upload my IGC file and the playback is great. And it is supported by SSA

I've not seen any other program that will replay an IGC file in 3d from the pilot's perspective like IGC Flight Replay did.
Unfortunately Google changed the API key required for IGC Flight Replay to function.

Doarama.com had a pretty good playback of flight logs. I haven't played with it in a while, but was pretty good last time I looked at it.

Here is a sample from a flight last summer.

I have this app as a program that runs locally on my computer but it now has
a Java script error upon opening it. (http://www.ywtw.de/Cesium/Build/Cesium/Cesium.js)
Google Earth will read IGC files to show you the track.
But paraglidinglogbook.com will allow you to replay your file in a 3D map.

Another pretty good IGC file viewer:

I use GPLIGC: http://pc12-c714.uibk.ac.at/GPLIGC/GPLIGC.php

It has no replay facility but is fine for analysing a log post flight and
extracting times, altitudes, etc. It can show both 2D and 3D views. Its
written in Perl.

I've really enjoyed using Soaringlab over the last month. Great visualization of flights with multiple perspectives available. Multi glider simulations are fantastic.

Many thanks to the developer(s).

Bart:
Couldn't get it to load an IGC file in my default (Opera) browser.
Firefox worked.
Would be nice to have hover-over info on what the buttons do.
In the picture-in-picture view that follows the glider, the wings stay level in turns.
Can you add a view as if you were sitting in the cockpit, with basic instruments?
The subject of this thread is where I am.
Thanks,
Jim

Thank you, thank you! I agree with 7Q; Soaringlab provides great tracking. 2D works good over Google Maps and I'm looking forward to loading Cesium 3D maps (https://www.cesiumjs.org/) and using Soaringlab over 3D. Please keep up the testing and development.

Bart,

What is your preferred way to receive feedback?

I tried playing back a long flight from this summer and noticed a couple of things.

1) Thermal view always reports metric climb info, regardless of the units select. The data window at the bottom is correctly displaying Knots/Feet.

2) My flight crossed midnight UTC. During playback, the airplane symbol disappears when the day changes over to 00:00:00. Running in reverse, it does reappear.

Very nice tool. Looking forward to exploring it more.

Hmm, i just installed the opera browser and it worked fine but we will take a closer look of there is a problem

Development was a little bit to fast over the last months so indeed we need to do some work on informing users what is what, or create a manual...

Wings staying level looks like a bug, try switching to 3D and back to hybrid view maybe that will fix it.

We currently have the tail cam that rotates with the aircraft, if we can make detailed glidermodels it would be possible, the instruments are on the todo list but it will be in a seperate window (not on the glider dashboard)

i created a google group for issues and updates of Soaringlab

3D display is already active, just load your file and hit the 3D button on the upper left corner.

Hi Morgan,

I have create a google group to discus issues and updates about Soaringlab,

we have noted your remarks and keep you up to date,
can you email your igcfile, we had some issues in the past concerning timezones...

This is a wonderful application. I have just started using it and I am learning a lot by seeing what my flights look like from the "outside".

By the way, it works fine for me in the Google Chrome browser but does not seem to work - igc files will not load - in the Apple Safari browser. No big deal.

Must be doing something wrong, the "Loading flights" never goes away, and
it can't keep up with the topography, it keeps losing all detail.
Reasonably fast processor, and plenty of memory, no problem when I ran
igcflight replayer.

Not sure where to put this this, so I picked post 1.

Wanting to view on an iPad, current opera browser and updates (will provide more info if needed).

Wish to view logs from contests, don't have an issue, but have not tried on this platform. Yet.

Yes, I will follow up, my better half is a software engineer, I know the issues for a programmer with no meaningful feedback.....
Trust me.....
LOL......

Bart,

Love it so far. A meta-suggestion - you might want to take advantage of a free tool like https://www.prodpad.com/ to help you collect and manage feedback. I haven't used this particular tool, it is just an example, but I suspect you will have a pretty active user community here that you can leverage.. It will be easier for you and more satisfying for them if everyone can see suggestions that have already been made, and can track your responses and plans. Just a thought to hopefully make it easier and more satisfying for you.

Regards,
Mark.

We have some weird issues when using replay multiple flights on iPad, it's on the "todo" list ;)

Looking pretty good so far. :)

Didn't run on Firefox 56.0.1 (loading bar didn't disappear), but works
fine on Microsoft Edge.

Is there a way to increase the range of the rendered landscape?

Cheers from Germany

Love it!! Great job, Bart!
Played around with it today but couldn't figure out how to keep the glider from flying off the screen. How do you keep the glider centered on the screen?

Thanks,

As this year's flying season goes slowly to an end in the northern hemisphere, and many of us will reach for the logged igc files, I can honestly recommend the Soaring Lab on-line app:

https://www.soaringlab.eu/

I have recently decided to go for the Pro version, which is not expensive (10 Euros or 12 USD/year). The map imagining is impressive, and all in all it is a good substitute for the IGC Flight Replay app which we used to like so much.

Doarama has recently been rebranded as https://ayvri.com/. It's really great because they are interactive
