He did OK, and he is still doing well at 94, but not too many of his peers
are with still us.
Grad 43G at Craig Field.
Then 5th AF, 49th Fighter Group, 9th Fighter Sqn.
Two tours, Papua New Guinea, Bismark Archipelago, Borneo, Leyte, Linguyen,
Luzon, Okinawa, Japan (flew escort for the Japanese surrender envoy,
“Surrender Betties”). Silver Star, DFC + OLC, Air Medal + 5xOLC.
