Someone told me that Arleen no longer works for the SSA? Any news on this?

Judy Ruprecht seems to be handling the badge work now.

I have also heard this.......if true it is a great loss for those of us in
the SSA in the USA.....Arleen ALWAYS went far beyond the call of duty to
give the very best support to it's members and did it with grace....

Don't you expect that the SSA website will soon have news about this, to
keep its members informed about changes at the organization such as this
?? (particularly since Arleen is such a well-known and respected figure)

I thought there was something in the Magazine about her leaving.. about 2
months ago?

I wish I had known. I would have put Judy in Pez. I have a cartoon of her
already.

Word has it that most of the Staff in Hobbs is new.
I do hate to see Arleen out of the office. She was a big "plus" to the
organization.

This is really unfortunate news. I talked with Arleen numerous times
over many years and she really did an outstanding job! She was a real
wealth of knowledge and was always extremely helpful and very
supportive! You would have thought that there would have been a nice
acknowledgement of her contributions over many years in SOARING, but
I've yet to see it.......We'll see if anything is ever said about her
(apparent) departure...Renny

I tried to e-mail Arleen to ask if she could confirm her departure from SSA ,
but did not receive a reply so assume she has left.

She certainly deserves a big THANKYOU for the many years of valuable service
she brought to SSA members .

Misinformation seems to be spread by the internet as easily as
information and I'm trying to figure out which this is. I checked the
last 4 issues of SOARING and couldn't find any such news. Arleen's face
and email was still in the March issue.

Didn't Judy get fired from that job a few years ago?

I suppose it would be fairly difficult to find a man
to do the job who would want to be the new ."

Hmmm...without knowing the current specifics, I can
only say that over the past few years TheBadgeLady seemed to be
quite responsive to my badge correspondence...

Since I'm in Central California, I'm in a quandry about
which Directors to contact (Northern or Southern
California?). However, like the horse equidistant between two
bales of hay, I am unlikely to be confused for TOO long...

Don't recall this. I believe Arleen and Eric went on the road in their RV
for an extended and well earned vacation. At that point they hired a new
badge person. I was one of several applicants and Judy Ruprecht was hired.
I believe Arleen became available again and Judy had other pursuits, so at
the time it was handed back to Arleen. At least that's my perception of
events.

I don't get it. Larry Sanderson kept his job for years. What did the Badge
Lady do, kill somebody?
