View Full Version : LAST CALL - Free Beer for Sailplane Racers!!

Region 6 Contest Manager
June 4th 04, 11:44 AM
Repeating the Call for Entrants to Region 6 South!

Free beer, throughout the contest, for pilots and crews participating in the
Region 6 South contest, 27 June to 3 July.

Region 6 South, hosted by the Caesar Creek Soaring Club will feature
numerous evening social events in addition to the racing. (And the Free
Beer!)

Registration is running a little light this year, there is still plenty of
room, and we will waive the late entry fee.

Standard Class Pilots take note – Caesar Creek has been selected to host the
2005 Standard Class Nationals. This is an excellent chance to come scout
our soaring environment and conditions.

Please visit the SSA Contest site for registration information. You may
visit the Caesar Creek website, below, or contact Dick Holzwarth. Contact
information can be obtained from the SSA Contest Registration site.

Is it really a good idea to encourage the consumption
of alcohol for people who are flying and driving? Just
a thought.

Get a life, Don!
The drinking takes place after the flying and driving and is not going
to be excessive from what I have seen in 25 years of soaring. I think
it's a cute idea to draw attention to this contest (ever heard of
marketing?)
If I couldn't trust someone to drink responsibly I sure as hell
wouldn't want them to fly with me in the same airspace.

Since when do you have to encourage glider pilots (and their crew) to
consume alcohol?
