Though I have a high speed connection, this was well worth the download.
Trapped in a hotel room with a bottle of nice wine, this was far better than
anything on TV ...

Wow! Thanks for making this available to the group! Some of the most awe
inspiring mountain footage I have seen. If nothing else it made me feel
cooler while it's 110 (43 centigrade) outside.

I should have asked the last time but can you provide some details wrt time
of year, number of flights to get the final product and camera? And since
the titles were in english can I assume that you were a visitor to St.
Auban?

Any idea how to direct download this movie file? Even on a high speed
link, my attempts to play this over the net results in buffer halts
every few seconds. I would take several hours to go through 14 min at
that rate.

My cable connection took about 10 minutes to download it. It had halts
while trying to view it with the ongoing buffer but after saving it you can
easily view it without a hitch.

That was a real awsome video, I recommend any glider enthusiast to
take the time to load and watch it, my cable connection only took
about 10 minutes with no problems. It was onew of the better videos I
have seen.

Pity its a WMV file though - those of us who won't pay M$ for their
bugfixes (aka "OS upgrade") can't install a suitable codec. If it was
an MPEG or even a Quicktime movie we could all watch it.

I had it installed at one point but threw it off to box for a reason I
forget. I think it was getting greedy over the file types it grabbed,
but it certainly started causing problems for the combo of Win95 and
Opera. There may have been a new codec involved too.
Pity, because up to then it had worked well.

"Cross-platform" in that it works on Mac and Windows. There isn't a
Linux version, which I think is a serious problem.
Still, mplayer and xine and totem will play just about anything :-)

The video was shot during 8 flights this spring from March 29 till
April 9 during our visit to one of the best soaring places on earth.
We had exellent weather during this period.
Camera's: Sony PC101 and TRV5.
Editing on a Pentium 4 (2,8 Mhz) using windows movie maker.
